What other HD film recording formats are there other than AVCHD?

my camera uses MP4, but i have �1000 computer with Adobe and Sony editing software so i wouldnt know if it is easier to edit. I know for a fact that if you want to film in HD then it will require a high power computer to edit as any film editing is CPU consuming. You would rather want to invest in a new computer rather than a new camera... good luck!
