What other HD film recording formats are there other than AVCHD?
MPEG2. you can get that on HDV tape, or some highend consumer HDD or CF memory cameras. Just remember with all digital formats, the less the compression, the easier for the computer to process. AVCHD was design to be super high compressed, good for SD cards, bad for editing.
